Welcome to Tegloma NorCal Chapter

For the longest time, the Sierra Leone blood diamond is what first came to mind when people spoke about this poor, devastated country. Battered by a severe economic decline, social unrest, and a destructive civil war that has ravaged the nation for many years, Sierra Leone is ranked as the poorest country in the world by the UNDP HDI (Human Development Index), with 70% of the country's population living below the poverty line.

Tegloma's Northern California chapter was founded in 1999 and is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing help to the people of Sierra Leone in the form of school supplies, educational scholarships, volunteer work, and others.

The organization was created as a way to help our less fortunate brothers and sisters in the war-ravaged country of Sierra Leone. We raise funds through fundraisers and other means to pool enough resources to reach out and help the people of Sierra Leone.

Sierra Leone is so relatively small that we are all related either by blood, marriage, religion, education level, tribal society, social practices or politics. Tegloma strives to improve their development as a nation. We at Tegloma reach out to individuals and organizations with an interest in supporting developing countries, volunteering, and providing donations for men, women, and children in Africa
